Primer on Justice for Dhenmark and Jovi Campaign:

Dhenmark and Jovi are two healthcare workers that was arrested for defending themselves while working at their care facility. They were then transferred to ICE detention after they were granted pre-trail released. Friends, family and community have made phone calls to the Ocean County Court, NJ Immigration office calling for the release of both Dhenmark and Jovi. We have also filed for the “Assistance to National (ATN) Fund” with the Philippine Consulate in New York in October 2024. There has only been empty words and promises yet assistance has not been provided. While detained, Jovi and Dhenmark have been living in sub human conditions. Water is not drinkable and the poor water quality has resulted in illness; it also cold in the detention facilities.

The demands are:

1) Release Dhenmark and Jovi

2) Provide clean water, healthy food, and adequate living conditions for everyone detained at ICE detentions centers.

3) PH Embassy and Consulate to advocate for the financial support for Dhenmark and Jovi’s family’s urgent medical treatment expenses in the Philippines!

4) Make services and assistance to nationals accessible for all Filipinos.

Primer on Justice for Florida 15 Campaign:

The Florida 15 are hospitality and service workers that were trafficked in 2012. Through the work of organizations like Migrante USA, Anakbayan USA, and NAFCON USA – some of the Florida 15 was able to amplify their experience, expose the complicity of the US and PH state in human trafficking, and visas in the US. A criminal case was filed in 2014, and has been finally been pursued and opened against their human trafficker, Jojo Villanueva, earlier this year. The Florida 15 has been forced to pay over $1000 in fees to participate in the virtual court hearings.

The demands are:

1) Prosecute JoJo Villanueva and hold all human traffickers accountable!
2) Philippine Consulate to provide assistance to the Florida 15 in the form of financial assistance for the virtual court hearing fees, wellness checks, and push to the judicial branch in Philippine government to prosecute Jojo Villanueva.

2) Make services and assistance to national accessible for all Filipinos
